Embroidery

Recently I have started doing some embroidery. I really like the simplicity of embroidery. The projects are really easy to personalise, and can be completed very quickly. Embroidery can also be used to decorate almost anything. Be it dish towels or birthday cards embroidery always livens up any plain textile.

New Humanoid!

I made another humanoid... seriously. I couldn'tresist thinking what this one would look like!
I have one golden rule from now on.... make all
stitches tight and neat. personally, presentation is
everything for me...

Anyway, enough about my new ways. Take a look :

Here she is! alot smaller than my other
doll, Eva.I decreased the size of my hook
from 4.00 mm hook to a size 3.00 mm
hook, resulting in tighter, better looking
stitches. Also you cant really see very
well but she has the same type of eyelids
as Eva,except in blue.I have finished the
wig proto-type, and just ready to knit
it in neat. Again I am going to sew the
clothes properly this time using a sewing
machine. Another thing I am considering
is my colour schemes. When choosing wool,
i'll try not  to go for the so obvious colours....

Oldies:)

Here are some of the amigurumis that I have made a long time ago, but just haven't had the time to blog... take a look :)

This one above is an Amineko.
Its kind of a popular Japanese sleepy cat.
Very simple pattern + very easy to make.
the perfect project for any beginner!
I made it in about 3-4 days:) Its also
weighted at the bottom by PVC pellets or
wax beads..well In my case,money ;-)
sometime I think "what if I made him bigger?"
Hmmmm.... I give myself possibilities....

This little fatty above is my
own design. Made completely with
insparation:) from the head to the toe
Is all one piece. the arms are sewed
on later, along with his ears. His feet
are inspired by the humanoid pattern

So these are just some of the amigurumis that I have made I plan
to make soo many more :D... I try to draft out patterns on paper.
it would really help if I could make a bunch of my own patterns:)
The possibilities are endless!!!

New yarn box ... *YAY*....

Today I bought a new yarn box from the local pound store. (my mum wanted to stop making me putting my work mess everywhere)

She's ready :D !

hi everyone guess what.... I have finished the doll I have been making !!! And she has a name now....Eva! I officially named her today. She has red hair that i made from biscuithouse's doll hair tutorial (just scroll down you should find the tutorial, 2nd post to last)

On her head she wears a little blue flower motif that I made this morning (It matches her kind of beachy sarong). I even added a bit of cheap blush onto her cheeks to make them rosy red :D

A cute amigurumi ladybird for the teacher...

Some time ago I was given a comission from the teacher, to make a cute ladybird. It was my own pattern that I invented whilst I was making it.It was quite simple and did not take a lot of skill, But I had problems with the antlers, They would not stay!!! but I fixed it by sewing them down and on top using cellotape. useful tip.(if your ever thinking about making a ladybug that is ;) )
